Smart Glasses

We're delighted to be a retail partner for the Even Realities G1 smart glasses.

These glasses include a display within the lens, which provides information from your smart phone, including live captions for people who have hearing difficulties.

Further information

Many people with moderate or severe hearing loss struggle to join in with conversations, which can leave them feeling frustrated and isolated, even with the benefit of hearing aids.

The Even Realities G1 frames have built-in microphones which can detect what people are saying, and display their words in your vision - it's a bit like having subtitles floating in front of you when people are speaking to you. We think this is one of the best features of the G1 smart glasses, and one which has the potential to transform the lives of so many people with hearing loss.

There is a slight delay between people speaking and the text appearing (around 1-2 seconds in our tests), and it doesn't pick up every word perfectly (especially in noisy environments) but the technology has now reached a point where it can make a real different to people who are living with hearing loss.

To get going, you just need to install the free Even Realities app on your smartphone or device, and activate the 'transcribe' feature.

Yes. As an Even Realities partner we can arrange for the frames to be glazed with Even Realities 'UltraFit' prescription lenses. The prescription is bonded to the waveguide lenses creating a thin, integrated lens that appears as one piece. This process must be carried out in a dust-free production environment, which is significantly different from traditional eyewear manufacturing. Prescription lenses are available in both single-vision (distance) and varifocal lens designs.

Please note: - to ensure optimum vision, we need to take precise measurements from your eyes before we place an order for prescription lenses, so this is only available to customers within the area we cover. Due to the glazing process, these glasses typically take 4-5 weeks to produce. Prescription G1 smart glasses are non-refundable and non-returnable, and we are unable to include them within our normal '100% satisfaction guarantee'.

In addition to displaying information when you lift your head, such as the date and time, and helpful reminders, you can also use the app to make quick notes, translate between different languages, navigate when walking or cycling, provide live captions when people are talking (transcribe), create a teleprompter, and get answers to spoken questions via Artificial Intelligence (AI). New features are likely to be added as the technology becomes more mature.

The battery lasts around 1.5 days with normal usage, and can be recharged using the included case.
